Rolex Datejust "Red Datejust" ref. 6305/2

One of the rarest Datejust I've ever had the opportunity to handle, this 6305/2 "Red Datejust" (Ovettone; big egg in Italian) is, to my knowledge, the only one for sale in the world at the time of writing. This is the proto-engine-turned bezel reference, the father of the 1603. Extra-rare to find in two-tone, with a black dial and red "Datejust" this example ticks all the boxes with regard to rarity. I love how the dial has applied, gilt, and printed elements all at once. 

Condition is remarkable. The dial is clean and the case is healthy and thick. Bezel retains all its important lines, and of course the big bubbleback caseback is nice and undamaged. Importantly, the early sword hands remain in good condition.
