Cartier Santos-Dumont "Extra-Flat" ref. 9605

Not your usual Santos, this "Extra-Flat" ref. 9605 is a wafer-like 4.2mm thin, thanks to the venerable Frederic Piguet 21 base calibre, a movement that held the title of "the thinnest hand-wound movement" for over two decades.

It wears very gracefully, and while a watch like this might usually slide under a cuff, barely noticed except by those discerning observers, this example was ordered with a rare, exceedingly supple, and delicately produced beads-of-rice bracelet from Cartier, complete with Cartier deployant clasp, all in 18 carat yellow gold.

This combination brings additional wrist presence and greatly enhances the collectability of this example, as probably only 10% of examples (or less) of this reference have a matching bracelet.
