Rolex Submariner "4-liner" ref. 14060M
The updated version of the acclaimed 5512, the flagship chronometer-certified Submariner reference, this 4-liner example from 2007 is an interesting one, as it bears a combination of features impossible to find on other models.
This watch has an engraved rehaut, yet it has lug holes.
Unlike the 16610, 16613, and 16660, which had their lug holes removed when rehaut engraving began, Rolex kept the holes in the 14060. To the best of my knowledge, this is the last reference to have them. Other Rolex references had their lug holes removed long prior to rehaut engraving (Daytona with the introduction of the 16520, Datejust in the early 90's)
The "M" stands for "modified", regarding the calibre update from the 3000 to the 3130, 8 years into production of the reference.
Classic, barebones, bombproof.
It's a fun little activity to spot the differences and similarities between this, and the 1960's 5512 4-liner elsewhere on the site.
